CANCELLED: Phillips Academy Observatory Outing March 2015

posted Mar 19, 2015, 5:07 PM by Brice Center   [ updated Mar 28, 2015, 9:07 AM ]

Based on the forecast for cloud cover and the falling snow, it is pretty obvious that we have to CANCEL tonight (Mar 28).

Our optional outing to the Phillips Academy Observatory is coming up on Saturday, March 28th.

What we'll do:

► We will use Phillips Academy's 16 inch optical telescope to look at the Moon, Jupiter, and Venus.

► We will receive a demonstration of the computer controller that automates the telescope.

► Some Phillips Academy students will explain how they use the telescopes in their research, etc.

Must RSVP through Evite to Attend

This is an event that has very limited space, and therefore must be arranged on an RSVP basis through Evite.

You must RSVP through Evite to attend.  Evite RSVPs will automatically close when all spaces are filled (or no later than Thursday, March 26th).

This event was very popular last year, and all spaces filled up within a matter of hours, so if you are wanting to attend, please respond to the Evite rapidly when you get it.  Expect the Evite to be sent directly to your email on Friday, March 20, around 11am.

Space is Limited

Space is limited to an absolute maximum of 60 people (scouts & parents).

Therefore, ONLY active Scouts and 1 parent may attend (no non-scout siblings in observatory).
